A Lifetime of Wonder
My name is Louise, artist, gemstone enthusiast and founder of LN Gem Artist.
I've always been fascinated by the little things that many people walk past- gemstones that catch the light, tiny insects hidden in the garden, flowers growing through cracks in the pavement and the stories attached to treasured objects.
Painting allows me to celebrate those moments of wonder and turn them into colourful, hand-painted pieces that bring a little more joy into everyday life.
Where It All Began
Although LN Gem Artist is my latest chapter, my love of jewellery began over fifteen years ago.
I discovered the jewellery industry almost by accident while covering maternity leave in a local high street jewellers, but it quickly became a career I fell in love with, I worked my way into management before joining a workshop based jewellers, where I not only learned about gemstones and design but the craftsmanship behind every piece.
Along the way I completed my Gem-A Practical Diamond Grading course with a grade A and gained hands on experience with the stones and learning all about their incredible qualities and characteristics.
One of my favourite thoughts is that natural diamonds take millions of years to form, which means that there is a real possibility a T-Rex walked over one of my diamonds before it was ever discovered, I can't prove it...but I also love thinking about it!
From here I worked for a fine Jewellery designer in Hatton Garden and Mayfair, surrounded by some of the most extraordinary gemstones and jewellery I could ever have imagined I seeing in real life, it is here that I was introduced to the art of Gouache Jewellery painting being taught by a master of the art in one to one lessons, here a new passion was born.
Wanting to learn even more, I continued studying with some of the worlds leading gouache jewellery artists, that passion and love for the craft grew and eventually grew into LN Gem Artist.
What Inspires Me Today?
Today my inspiration comes from far more than gemstones.
It's found on walks through the park, in fairy doors hidden amongst old trees, colourful fungi growing on fallen logs, dragonflies catching the afternoon sun and all the tiny discoveries that make you stop for a second and smile if you just allow yourself some time to look for them.
Those moments often become paintings, treasure hunts and new collections. My hope is that every piece I create encourages someone else to notice the beauty hiding in everyday life.

Every painting begins with a spark of curiosity.
Some become detailed gemstone studies, others grow into nature-inspired collections, treasure hunts or tiny pieces designed simply to make someone smile.
